VisionHawk Productions Presents

ANNIE MATHIAS
INSTRUCTOR

Beginning Digeridoo (Parts 1-2)

Join us in the “Cool Zone” for two consecutive, introductory sessions on the didgeridoo.  This two session interactive workshop will cover didgeridoo basics:

  • The didgeridoo for you (explanation of mouthpieces, keys and varieties of didgeridoos)
  • Beginning fundamental tones (drone)
  • Basic vocals
  • Rhythms
  • Concepts of Circular Breathing

Please note:
If you do not have a didge, I will provide didgeridoos for you to play. We will use easy-to-play didges so we can all jump in and learn! No previous musical experience necessary. And no, you don’t have to know how to circular breathe!

Moyo Madness! (Parts 1-2)

Annie has developed her own method of teaching others to play the Moyo drum.  This is a fun class which grew out of a love for the Moyo drums and Annie’s desire to teach EVERYONE to enjoy finding their inner music.  We will learn to play this instrument alone, with other Moyo drums, and with other instruments. No previous musical experience needed!
Please note:

  • Annie’s book, Moyo Madness, will be available to interested students at a reduced rate
  • Moyo drums are available for use if you do not already have one!

Putting it All Together! (Parts 1-2, and final jam)

Playing music with others is both joyful and important.  I teach this workshop because folks who can play music with others are often invited to join circles with others, regardless of skill level.  And this is only the beginning of fun!

Please join with us in the “blendings.”  We will use a variety of instruments including didges, flutes, Moyos drums, hand drums, rattles, rain sticks, bird whistles, crystal bowls and even our own voices. Percussive instruments will be available.  Bring your own favorite instruments, too.
